Responsibilities : In this role, you will assist the General Counsel with a variety of matters that arise in the legal department. As In-House Counsel, you will
Perform legal research on a variety of topics, including real estate, employment disputes, and habitability claims.
Oversee the Unlawful Detainer docket and perform discovery, engage in motion practice and prepare for trials.
Appear for motion hearings, ex-parte hearings and trials
Assist with pre-litigation dispute resolution
Review and update corporate forms and documents, including lease agreements and property management forms.
Must-Have Skills :
You must have a J.D. from an accredited law school and be in good standing with the CA Bar.
You must have 1-3 years of litigation/trial prep experience
You must have 1-3 years of discovery experience, including written discovery, depositions, and 3rd party subpoenas.
Nice to Have Skills :
Unlawful Detainer trial experience a major plus!
