Position Summary:
The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for clerical support for both the Contracting and Central Business Office departments. Duties can include, but not limited to, updating contract fee slots in billing software, updating payor plans with new changes for the facility clients, assisting self pay representative in updating of account financial classes and working time pay delinquency reports.
Essential Functions:
  • Must possess effective and efficient communication skills.
  • Employee is expected to be proficient in all systems, programs, machines and processes associated with their current position in the CBO.
  • Employee is expected to maintain a courteous and professional relationship with staff, management, clients, payors and all other entities they may encounter.
  • Employee must be detail oriented, organized, flexible and be able to function successfully in extremely busy office setting.
  • Must be able to complete multiple duties on a daily basis while paying close attention to quality of work to ensure minimal errors.
  • Effectively working and cooperating with supervisors, co-workers and clients.
  • Following the directions of supervisors.
  • Refraining from causing or contributing to disruption in the workplace.
  • Regular and Reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Functional Accountabilities:
  • Enters fee slot updates into the billing system per direction/reports from contracting department.
  • Updates facility payor plans as needed
  • Updates financial class P patients to reflect correct current financial class as directed by the self-pay representative.
  • Reviews self-pay patients to verify if ready to be changed to early out status. If account is verified as ready updates the financial class to early out.
  • Works time pay delinquency reports for facility patients by removing accounts that have been turned to bad debt, turned to early out and zero balance accounts.
  • Performs various data entry projects as needed and assigned by management.

  • Reports to: AR Collections Manager -Facility.
  • Supervises: None
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of data entry experience.
  • 1 year of medical billing office experience preferred.
  • Current billing system experience preferred.
  • Ten-key and Excel experience preferred.
