JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operate, monitor, maintain and repair conventional water treatment/distribution systems, including but not limited to wells, pumps, water catchments and storage systems, water filtration treatment plants, distribution piping, valves, flow control devices, taps, line stops, backflows, chlorination/dichlorination, leak detection and analyzers.
2. Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance as well as unscheduled maintenance (Fault Repair).
3. Conduct daily operations and maintenance inspections of assigned areas such as checking chemical feed systems, water collection and storage sites, water filtration treatment plants, and facility distribution system components.
4. Collect and record periodic systems readings such as flow rates, system pressure, analyzer/sensor & meter readings etc.
5. Adjust Water Plant equipment, ensuring operational guidelines are followed and are in compliance with all federal, state and US Navy guidelines.
6. Familiar with operations of the adsorption system and reviews its operation at least every two weeks to ensure the system is maintained in a manner appropriate to produce water fit for human consumption.
7. Responds to Water Plant emergencies with appropriate immediate and subsequent actions.
8. Ensures efficient and economical operation of station water production equipment.
9. Maintains logs as required.
10. Implements and maintains a safe workplace program, ensuring safety is the highest priority.
11. On-site representative for the project team, serves as the eyes and ears of the company.
12. As a member of the Project team, responsible for the implementation and of site safety, quality and compliance.
13. Correctly document and report supported activities.
14. As needed develop plans, and written processes related to the operations and maintenance of the Water Treatment system as well as any required operator and or staff training programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. One year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if a degree is required.
2. Must hold a WSO Certification.
3. High School diploma OR Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
4. 2 years of Water Treatment Plant or related technical school preferred.
5. Valid driver's license with a clean traffic abstract.
6. 2+ years of recent work-related experience in water distribution systems or water treatment plants preferred.
7. Current Hawaii Water Treatment Plant Operator (WTPO) Certification Required Grade 1 or higher.
8. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
9. Able to perform mathematical calculations.
10. Mechanically inclined and competent using hand-held tools.
11. Electrical background a plus.
12. Must be able to clear background checks for access to secure work sites.
13. Computer proficiency with email, work processing, and MS Office Suite.
14. Able and willing to perform other duties as needed, as skills and program allow.
