St. Thomas Surgery Center - Midtown is seeking a motivated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team. Saint Thomas Surgery Center - Midtown is a fast paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. 

 

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures and patient care.

 

Job Responsibilities:

·       Ensures sterility of all supplies and instruments during setup of surgical procedures.

·       Assists circulating nurse in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment.

·       Assists circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.

·       Complies with Policies & Procedures and adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment

·       Prepare operating rooms for surgery

·       Pass instruments to surgeons during procedures

·       Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team

Required Skills:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or previous surgical technician experience of at least two years preferred.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians

Required Experience:
