Role Summary
A Recovery Cycle Specialist for Auto Liability and Workers' Compensation bills is responsible for monitoring and managing the status of claims after they have been submitted to insurers. This role involves tracking claim progress, addressing denials, and coordinating with insurance adjusters to resolve issues promptly. The specialist ensures all necessary documentation is complete and verifies that claims are processed according to regulatory guidelines.
Location
This role is an on-site position at 12443 Olive Blvd. Creve Coeur, Missouri 63141.
Responsibilities
- Claim Status Tracking: Regularly check the status of submitted claims with auto liability or workers' compensation insurers noting any delays or pending actions.
- Denial Management: Review any denials received, analyze the reasons, and initiate the appeals process if appropriate. This includes gathering necessary documentation for resubmission.
- Communication with Adjusters: Maintain open lines of communication with insurance adjusters to resolve issues quickly and ensure claims are processed efficiently.
- Follow-Up Scheduling: Set up a systematic schedule for follow-ups based on claim timelines and insurer response times to ensure no claims are overlooked.
- Documentation Verification: Ensure that all necessary documentation related to each claim is properly filed and accessible, which may include incident reports, medical records, and treatment notes.
- Claims Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile accounts to ensure that payments received match the billed amounts and address discrepancies promptly.
- Negotiation: If necessary, negotiate settlements with auto liability insurers to expedite payment and resolve outstanding balances.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all follow-up communications, claims statuses, and actions taken for future reference and audits.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office & MS Outlook
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Well organized, detail oriented, and flexible
- Billing Experience: Previous experience in medical billing, specifically with Workers' Compensation and Auto Liability claims, is highly desirable.
- Follow-Up Experience: Experience in a follow-up or accounts receivable role within a healthcare setting can be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines related to Workers' Compensation and Auto Liability billing.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to review and analyze claims to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with insurance adjusters, patients, and internal teams.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues with claims and develop strategies for resolution.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims and deadlines simultaneously.
- Billing Software Proficiency (Preferred): Experience with healthcare billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
