Title: Vice President, Health Center Operations and Chief Nursing Officer


Basic Functions:

The vice president, health center operations and chief nursing officer (VPHCO) contributes to FamilyCare's mission and vision through executive leadership health center operations and clinical support functions. The VPHCO ensures compliance with applicable accreditation, regulatory, and licensure standards.

Qualifications :

  • Graduate of an accredited four-year nursing program (BSN); Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of related clinical and management experience involving direct patient care and health center operations
  • At least one year must have been in the capacity as the direct leader of other professional-level associates

Certificate/ License:

  • Hold and maintain throughout employment an active, unencumbered license as Registered Nurse in the state of West Virginia

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Plan, budget, organize, evaluate, and improve health center operations; Create goals and performance measures to enhance operations
  • Track various quality measures to improve patient care, financial performance, and compliance with laws
  • Determine patient access and care model operational strategies by conducting need assessments, reviewing capacity plans, and estimating cost benefits
  • As a member of the executive team, contributes information and analysis to organizational strategic plans and goals
  • Participate in quality improvement activities across the organization; Perform data collection through reports and audits and provide analysis for the measurement of outcomes
  • Monitor developments related to clinical services and evaluate their impact on health center operations and financial programs
  • Develop and implement nursing and health center operations policy and procedural improvements
  • Work in partnership with other leaders to develop and implement programs that promote health and access to primary care
  • Collaborate with other team members to identify and facilitate clinical services and operational improvements
  • Assure that the delivery of patient care is consistent with the current changes and research in health care
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the state, national, and professional quality standards for clinical services. Participate in and/or develop/revise policies and associated procedures
  • Assume the responsibility for the financial management of staffing needs/services that assure adequate resources for the delivery of patient care
  • Coordinate vendor contracts for laboratory services, proficiency testing, biohazard services, and interpretation services
  • Other duties as assigned
