Initial Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (day shift)

Summary:
We are looking for an experienced building engineer to join our engineering team in operating, maintaining, and repairing various building systems around our +800,000 square foot campus. Under the direction of the Chief Engineer and/or assigned Lead, this position will be responsible for the proper utilization of materials and equipment to perform complex and major corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, highly skilled and detailed renovation and construction services and other such work as assigned. This position usually works independently with minimal direct supervision.
What You'll Do:
  • Independently performs routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building systems, equipment, and appliances; including, but not limited to:
  • HVAC including pumps, motors, condenser/evaporator units, split systems, hydronic, etc.
  • Plumbing system/fixtures including soldering, brazing.
  • Electrical systems including ballasts, fixtures, outlets, lighting, and low volt systems.
  • Kitchen equipment and appliances including ice machine, refrigerators, coolers, exhaust fans, and gas-fired cooking.
  • Healthcare equipment including, but not limited to, therapy tubs, wheelchairs, hospital beds, and various life support equipment.
  • Laundry room equipment and appliances washers, dryers and ironer in laundry rooms as directed.
  • Responds immediately to all life safety system alarms and failures (incl. smoke alarms and emergency pull cords).
  • Operates the building automation system and trouble shoots its components as required.
  • Orders materials needed and/or required carrying on shop or maintenance work as directed.
  • Reads plans and blueprints; determines scope of work and materials needed.
  • Performs replacement or adjustment of doors, door hardware, and provides basic locksmith services.
  • Trains other technicians as directed.

What We're Looking For:
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates
  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Possesses a minimum of five years of experience in the renovations, construction or building maintenance services field.
  • Must possess a valid State of Washington Driver's License.
  • Licensures or accreditation of local, state or federal authority in any one of Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Lock-smithing, Asbestos Abatement or Handling or CFC certification highly desirable.

  • Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, power tools, etc.
