Description
We are currently seeking a motivated Commercial Estimator to join our team within our Commercial Division!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times and epitomize the Company's Core Values
  • Communicate by phone and in person with commercial customers to assist with quotes and daily sales.
  • Create accurate customer quotations by gathering proposals and related documents, and by reading and interpreting plans, blueprints and project specifications.
  • Compute costs by material, shipping costs and time requirements.
  • Quote current product lines we represent whenever appropriate and possible.
  • Ensure attention to detail and accuracy in producing quotes for customers by assuring submittals match, resolving discrepancies, and by analyzing results.
  • Ensure required paperwork is completed accurately; including coding, costing and pricing; and that all administrative, accounting and credit related procedures are strictly observed.
  • Maintain weekly bid log on the portal or on Management/Sales shared file to allow follow up on bids.
  • Review and produce revised quotes and submittals as needed.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by reviewing technical publications, attending product knowledge meetings and educational workshops, as approved.
  • Establish and maintain good customer relations.
  • Maintain neat, clean and professional appearance.
  • Exercise safety at all times.
  • Work with all department staff to request or offer assistance to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by management.
  • Contribute professionally to the efforts of the branch at all times.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Three (3) years of Estimating experience preferred
  • Knowledge of plumbing products and supplies, fixtures and faucets, and drainage and piping systems; both residential and commercial preferred.
  • Proficient in basic computer programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook and order entry systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints and specifications
  • Ability to be responsive to customer needs. This includes great customer service, attention to detail and daily follow through on all quotations.
  • Ability to research customer requests using resources such as vendors and the Internet.
  • Effective organization and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
  • Excellent temperament and communication skills while interfacing with both, customers and employees, in a friendly and professional manner-on the telephone and in person.
  • Ability to problem solve and work through stressful situations.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
