We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with expertise in sleep medicine or a strong interest in the field to join our dedicated team. This role involves providing comprehensive care for patients with sleep disorders in collaboration with a team of physicians. The ideal candidate will possess a robust clinical background and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through advanced assessment and treatment strategies.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.  
  • Patient Age Range: 3 years and up.
  • Average Provider Patients Per day: 16-18.
  • Provide coverage at Memorial Regional Medical Center (3 days/week) and St. Marys Hospital (2 days/week).
  • Perform comprehensive medical assessments for patients with sleep-related disorders.
  • Order and evaluate diagnostic testing, including polysomnograms, to diagnose and manage sleep disorders.
  • Prescribe and manage appropriate therapeutic equipment and medications for effective treatment of sleep conditions.
  • Educate patients on lifestyle modifications and sleep hygiene practices to promote better sleep health.
  • Collaborate with physicians or a group of physicians to provide timely and effective care management, including admission, ongoing assessment, and symptom management.
  • Order and perform specified diagnostic tests and procedures under the guidance of a physician or group of physicians, adhering to legislative and clinical standards.
  • Contribute to patient care through advanced assessment skills, clinical therapeutics knowledge, and by supporting professional education and research activities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia.
  • Minimum of 2 years of outpatient experience required; experience or strong interest in sleep medicine preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive assessments and manage complex patient care.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical therapeutics and diagnostic testing related to sleep medicine.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and engage patients effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
