Purpose:

In strong partnership with other Worley Digital functions, Digital Architecture securely enables Worley through the creation of the technology blueprint and innovation to achieve targeted business outcomes that support Group Executive priorities for growing revenue, cost optimization, and mitigating risks.

Reporting to the SVP, Digital Architecture and Chief Information Security Officer, the Chief Architect is a senior business and technical leader who will focus on building relationships with stakeholders, communicating the value of Worley’s architecture function and the services it offers, ensuring ongoing satisfaction with services and performance, while shaping and guiding the delivery of architecture’s services and enabling Worley to excel in global project delivery.

The Chief Architect will develop a forward-looking architectural blueprint while following a secure by design and zero trust approach to securely enable Worley’s digital transformation.

The Chief Architect responds to disruptive forces by helping business and Worley Digital leaders facilitate the decision-making process and providing actionable recommendations on initiatives and policies to help the organization drive targeted business outcomes.

Responsibilities and Accountability:

  1. Build and manage Worley’s Digital Architecture team to deliver world-class services adhering to a secure by design and zero trust strategy.
  2. Develop forward-looking architectural blueprint for end-to-end capabilities incorporating on-premises, cloud data models and AI.
  3. Drive the flexibility, adaptability and evolution of the Architecture team's services and operating model to ensure realization of targeted business outcomes.
  4. Work closely with other Digital functions and engage stakeholders, creating and building relationships. Facilitate alignment between Worley Digital and other Worley functions.
  5. Communicate the business value of the architecture function and its portfolio of services.
  6. Guide business and Digital strategy development and execution.
  7. Facilitate technological and nontechnological trendspotting.
  8. Initiate business and technology innovation opportunities.
  9. Support Digital portfolio planning and modernization, and influence capital investment process.

What you will bring:

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
  • Strong cyber security acumen. Experience designing secure systems and capabilities.
  • Deep technical competence around AI, cloud, platform, and backend services, distributed architecture, data pipelines, systems and data integrations, and large data flows.
  • Strong technical experience in architecture design.
  • Familiarity with information management practices, secure system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
  • Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at enterprise level.
  • Experience in global project delivery (highly desired).
  • Successfully built and managed Enterprise Architecture functions.
  • Profound understanding on leveraging technological innovation to drive improvement.
  • Technical visionary able to set and evangelize a holistic architectural roadmap and drive long-term strategic technological direction.
  • Track record of working on new cutting-edge tech to solve meaningful enterprise problems.
  • Experience with TOGAF and Open Architecture, with familiarity in SABSA frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in leading global organizations.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in managing medium to large architecture teams.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Degree(s) in Computer Science and/or related fields.
  • Proven leadership experience in global organizations.
  • Global EPCM / Consulting organizations experience (highly desired).
  • 15+ years of experience in IT / IT leadership, including Enterprise Architecture roles.
  • Ten or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management, or operations in a multitier environment.
