Description
Role Description: The Vice President of Investor Relations will lead AAR’s engagement with the investment community, shaping and communicating the company’s financial narrative and long-term strategy. This role is responsible for building investor confidence, maintaining relationships with analysts, and driving a robust investor relations strategy. As the primary spokesperson, the VP will work closely with senior leadership to align investor messaging with AAR’s business performance and market potential, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and delivering key insights to stakeholders.
What you will be responsible for:
Investor & Analyst Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between AAR and the investment community, including investors, equity analysts, and key financial opinion leaders.
- Build and maintain relationships with both buy-side and sell-side analysts, facilitating regular communication and feedback.
- Lead the preparation and execution of key investor events, including Investor Days, earnings calls, Non-Deal Roadshows, and other critical investor meetings.
- Actively monitor and assess investor sentiment, analyzing shareholder base turnover and tracking engagement metrics to drive investor outreach strategies.
Communication & Strategy:
- Develop a comprehensive investor relations strategy that aligns with AAR’s long-term goals and promotes confidence in the company’s vision, growth potential, and financial health.
- Lead the creation of investor materials, including earnings presentations, annual reports, press releases, and other collateral, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency of messaging.
- Partner with the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership team to communicate company performance, market opportunities, competitive positioning, and industry trends to investors and analysts.
- Provide strategic counsel to leadership on trends and perceptions within the financial community, delivering actionable insights to improve investor engagement.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure compliance with SEC disclosure rules, financial reporting regulations, and corporate governance guidelines.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze financial results and performance metrics, preparing detailed reports on market activity, competitor behavior, and macroeconomic trends to inform the leadership team.
- Oversee the preparation of SEC filings and annual reports, coordinating with the finance and legal teams to ensure timely and compliant disclosures.
- Drive the development of financial models and valuation methods to provide investors with a transparent and accurate view of the company’s performance.
Market Insights & Trend Analysis:
- Track and analyze capital market trends, competitor activities, and economic factors that impact AAR’s business and stock price, using this insight to inform and refine the investor narrative.
- Proactively engage with investors ahead of earnings cycles, sharing insights on AAR’s strategic initiatives, growth prospects, and financial performance.
- Lead efforts to expand and diversify AAR’s shareholder base by targeting new investor segments and enhancing engagement with existing shareholders.
Qualifications
What you will need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field; an MBA or FMVA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in investor relations, corporate finance, or a related field, with a proven track record of building strong relationships with investors and equity research analysts.
- Expertise in SEC regulations, disclosure requirements, and capital markets, with deep knowledge of financial modeling techniques and valuation methodologies.
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic trends, capital market dynamics, competitor activities, and industry trends, particularly within aviation or adjacent industries.
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex financial information into clear and compelling messaging.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a client-focused approach and the ability to thrive in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to influence senior leadership and provide clear recommendations based on financial analysis and market data.
