The Director, GPO Contracting is a people leader responsible for leading a team, developing and managing relationships with manufacturers, optimizing contract negotiations, ensuring the delivery of value to GPO members with innovative contracting implementation, and setting strategic vision for all therapeutic areas. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and extensive experience in healthcare procurement, supply chain management, and vendor relations.

This position reports to the Vice President, GPO Services.

This is a remote, work from home position with some travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team of 6 Account Directors and 4 Contract Managers which includes day-to-day support, coaching, mentoring, talent assessment, and performance discussions.
  2. Oversee the management of contracting programs, including monitoring program performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, create innovative contracting structures, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure the smooth execution of contracting programs.
  3. Establish and maintain a standardized contract negotiation process, including coordinating with internal stakeholders, developing and implementing strategies to streamline the negotiation process and improve efficiency.
  4. Identify business opportunities and develop strategies to increase supplier engagement.
  5. Support marketing and sales teams in their development and delivery of sponsorship packages and sales materials.
  6. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure contracts comply with regulatory requirements and to address any contract-related issues.
  7. Collaborate with suppliers to understand their needs and align GPO services accordingly.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  2. Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare supplier management, business development, or contracting.
  3. Team leadership experience.
  4. Strong knowledge of the healthcare industry and GPOs specifically in the therapeutic area of Oncology.
  5. Proven track record in contract negotiation and management.
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  8. Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
  10. Ability to travel up to 30%.

Anticipated salary range: $114,200 – $184,380.
