1-year veterinary clinical experience required
The ideal candidate is proficient in the following areas:
- Dog and Cat restraint
- I.V catheter placement
- Venipuncture (jugular, cephalic, medial/lateral saphenous)
- Running in-house IDEXX lab work
- Radiography
- Familiarity with veterinary pharmacology
- Calculating medication doses
- Administering medications via all routes
- Inducing Anesthesia (R.V.T.)
- Intubating (R.V.T.)
- Surgical monitoring
- Client communication and education (excellent written and verbal skills)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to decipher medical records
