About the Team:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Manager of Database Reliability to lead our dynamic team responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and mentoring technical staff, extensive experience with AWS and its core technologies, experience in site reliability and on-call, and excellent communication skills. You will be the go-to person for both your team and other departments when they need help, as you are known for your willingness and ability to provide meaningful assistance.

About You:

  1. Lead a Team: Manage and mentor a team of Database Reliability Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  2. Ensure Reliability: Drive the design, implementation, and operation of scalable and highly available database solutions that meet the needs of our organization.
  3. Innovate with Automation: Spearhead the development of automation frameworks that reduce operational overhead, enabling zero-downtime deployments and efficient database management.
  4. Strategic Oversight: Guide the evolution of our database infrastructure, including the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, secure access mechanisms, and cutting-edge cloud technologies.
  5. Problem Solving: Serve as a trusted resource across the organization for complex database challenges, providing expertise and leadership in crisis situations.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with application development teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of database resources, while also managing cloud spend and resource optimization.
  7. Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation of all database architectures, processes, and policies to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve our database reliability strategies.

For Colorado-based employment: The target salary range is $138,000 - $180,000. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.

For New York-based employment: The minimum salary for this position is $138,000/year. The maximum salary for this position is $180,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
