South Dakota State University Cashier’s Office is offering an exceptional career opportunity as Director of Student Accounts. We are looking for a confident and innovative professional to guide our Jackrabbit students as they navigate their financial commitments. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position. This position is supervised by the Assistant Vice President of Financial Services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for managing student account billings, payments, and refunds. The unit also administers preliminary, in-house collection efforts and student loans. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an aptitude for leading teams that prioritize customer service while accurately and efficiently processing a significant volume of financial transactions.
SALARY:
The salary for the Director of Student Accounts is commensurate with qualifications. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays. Relocation benefits are available per university’s guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree related to Finance, Accounting, Business Management or Economics completed by date of application;
- At least three years of related experience;
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology to business solutions;
- Professional oral and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in managing higher education student receivables;
- Experience with collection of past due accounts;
- Demonstrated successful supervisory experience;
- Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules, and laws related to student financial aid, student privacy (FERPA), and collection of current and past due accounts;
- Demonstrated ability to promote excellent customer service;
- Established record of initiating and implementing process improvements;
- Experience or potential in developing effective communication plans;
- Ability to collaborate well with other units;
- Familiarity with Ellucian Banner software.
