HEALTHCARE TECHNICIAN SUMMARY
Healthcare Technicians work closely with each of the clients and medical/clinical staff on an individual basis, providing assistance in the areas of; medication observation and medical appointment scheduling, as well as overall client health, in an intensive inpatient health care facility.

Sierra Meadows Behavioral Heath exists to help restore hope in the lives of those affected by mental health conditions. WHO WE SERVE
Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health provides counseling therapy to adult men and women with a wide range of mental health conditions. Our residential treatment programs serve those who are having difficulty coping in their home environment due to heightened mental health or substance use symptoms. This includes those struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, PTSD, moderate eating disorders, and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages medication protocols including observation, documentation, audit functions, and record keeping of all observed/inventoried/destroyed/prescribed medications using the electronic medical record and some paper documentation.
- Assesses patients with undiagnosed or diagnosed conditions and assisting in ascertaining clinical medication management with Nurse Practitioner and/ or Medical Director.
- Observation, documentation, and record keeping of client health status.
- Works closely with Nurses/Nurse Practitioner/Medical Director/ LMFT/ and Case Managers on client health status and presenting conditions.
- Manages complete Medication Observation Record Sheets and system.
- Sets all medical appointments for clients including medical, dental, and psychiatric as needed. Transports clients as needed.
- Responsible for directing, supporting and encouraging clients to perform their activities of daily living and assisting them when needed.
- Provides compassion and comfort to those who are lonely, frustrated, or scared.
- Housekeeping duties including preparing meals, vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, laundry, changing linens, mopping, and sanitizing all contact areas. Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
- Observes and influences patients' behavior.
- Monitors patients' physical and emotional well-being and reports unusual behavior or physical ailments to staff.
- Ensures safety of clients at all times. Completes safety checks.
- Inventories food, labels and dates opened food items, labels food with expiration dates, organizes pantry and fridge, prepares grocery order, takes water and fridge/freezer temps.
Salary Description
$17 - $19 per hour
