Position Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Animal Breeder Sales department globally. The Sales Manager will lead his/her team to provide superior customer focused support to both distributors and direct customers. The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing specific sales team targets that conform to overall business revenue/margin objectives. The Sales Manager will assist the sales team in acquiring new clients, ensure that each salesperson is properly trained, and travel with the sales staff to work with key distributors and end customers.
PRIMARY Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)

  • Build, develop, and lead global Animal Breeder sales team in support of MVE products and services.
  • Direct sales management of defined key accounts.
  • Oversee activities of the global Animal Breeder sales team.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies globally to increase market share and revenue.
  • Identify and assess customers' needs to achieve exceptional customer experience. Provide feedback to the group of internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with cross functional teams (customer service, marketing, product management, finance, operations, engineering) to resolve customer issues and technical problems.
  • Measure sales team members' performance against metrics that meet company specific objectives.
  • Work to foster long-term relationships with customers.
  • Assist the marketing team in the design of marketing programs targeting specific products, market segments, customers, etc.
  • Develop & manage the product line sales department budget in conjunction with the CCO.
  • In coordination with Marketing, plan sales strategy and participation in exhibitions.
  • Provide feedback to product management, engineering and marketing regarding competitor's products and activities.
  • Monitor market share to assist in the development of increasing penetration strategies.
  • Develop and implement sales training programs to ensure the excellence of the team and its ability to meet personal and company objectives.
  • Ensure adoption and regular usage of Sales Force.com CRM by the sales team to provide additional customer interactions and ensure a delightful customer experience.
  • Manage sales team in regular forecasting process which will be integral to the development of the sales and marketing program.
  • Conduct regular global sales meetings.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of sales experience, with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience in animal health or life science markets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and customer focused skills.
  • Comfortable working within a fast growth and changing environment.
  • Ability to coach and grow the capabilities of the global sales team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products and Salesforce.com CRM
