UIC is seeking a Business Manager to join our College of Medicine, DOM Medicaid Advisory Unit. The Business Manager oversees daily operations, manages financial accounting activities, and provides operational and project management support for the Medicaid Advisory Unit (MAU). Duties may include, but are not limited to, project management, administration of budgets and related fiscal planning, invoicing, maintenance, and analysis, and assisting in proposals and financial reports.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with DOM MAU team members by monitoring the progress of all OMI partnership projects on an ongoing basis relative to established timelines and key milestones.
  • Responsible for reviewing and processing invoices for external/internal clinical consultative services for OMI partnership projects.
  • Develop a project plan for each OMI partnership project with outlined goals and objectives and provide monthly status reports for key stakeholders.
  • Monitor expenditure of funds relative to budgetary targets for each OMI partnership project on an ongoing basis.
  • Initiates and develops budgets and budget justifications for clinical program requests from HFS Medicaid.
  • Prepare and process all paperwork related to finance operations.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
  1. A. Bachelor's degree in accountancy, business administration, management, or a closely related field.
  2. B. Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in accounting, business administration, fiscal management, or closely related experience.
  3. C. A combination of such education and/or work experience totaling three (3) years (36 months).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance
  • 2-3 years experience in budgeting, financial management, and/or project management
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
  • Previous experience in care coordination or utilization management in a healthcare organization
  • Experience with Asana or equivalent project management tools a plus.
