Public Tax Accountant

We are working with a strong CPA firm in Chicago that is looking to add a solid Tax Staff Accountant to their team. The position details are as follows:

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare Federal and State Individual, Corporate, S-Corporation and Fiduciary Income Tax Returns.
2. Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and forms.
3. Prepare sales tax returns.
4. Ensure clients' sales and payroll tax liabilities are calculated correctly and paid timely.
5. Research tax notices and communicate with agencies on behalf of clients.
6. Prepare monthly data processing and financial statements for assigned clients.
7. Prepare journal entries and post transactions to the general ledger.
8. Reconcile general ledger and prepare adjusting entries.
9. Prepare year-end account reconciliations, work papers, and closing entries.

Qualifications:

1. Four-year degree in Accounting or Business.
2. CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
3. Must have a minimum of two tax busy seasons.
4. Proficiency with Ultratax and QuickBooks is desired.
