The Office of Student Affairs and Admissions is responsible for the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of students into the health professions programs at LU, as well as providing student and academic support services.

This position will serve as the Admissions and Recruitment Advisor for the University and is responsible for recruitment activities, advising of applicants, coordination of interview days, communication with interested students and pre-health advisors, marketing the programs locally and regionally, evaluating and assigning applicant files, assisting with the management of the WebAdMIT application portals, assisting with the departmental social media sites, and managing departmental events.  The incumbent will be expected to work some evening and weekend hours for events that occur outside of the normal workday and will be expected to travel for recruitment events.   

Responsibilities:

·         Meet individually with prospective students and effectively provide accurate pre-admissions advising

·         Prepare and manage admissions information from applicants through the WebAdmit application systems and maintain communication with applicants through the admissions cycle

·         Schedule and manage interview days, including communication with applicants and interviewees

·         Assist with the Implementation of the departmental recruitment plan

·         Assist with the development of content for social media and outreach

·         Develop relationships with advisors, faculty, and administrators at other educational institutions to schedule and promote information sessions

·         Co-Advise the Student Ambassador Program

·         Assist with events such as Meet the Lions, Information Sessions, and Accepted Student Day

·         Represent all LU programs at internal and community events

·         Participate in recruitment activities such as College fairs, information sessions, and other activities to promote, develop and maximize enrollment opportunities.

·         Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings/weekends and travel to other University campuses and/or locations.

·         Conduct webinars and campus tours.

·         Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Bachelors degree in Psychology, Education, Communications, Human Relations, or equivalent.

·         Strong interpersonal and written/verbal skills including public speaking

·         Professional experience in higher education

·         Proven ability to prioritize and organize

·         Ability to work with a diverse population and within a team structure

·         Valid Florida drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Bilingual in English/Spanish

·         Experience with graduate/professional students and programs
