Job Summary: This role's primary responsibilities are supporting manufacturing IT systems, helping plant staff (IT, Accounting, Production etc.) in the effective and efficient use of Computer systems by providing direct support, project management and system change requests, new technology implementations (inclusive of conversions and configuration). Work together with an IT team to ensure usability, security and management of all assets in the companies' IT infrastructure. Manage monthly and annual IT budgets, capital projects and coordinated deployments of any plant driven or corporate directed projects.
Required Qualifications:
- College diploma or University degree in related field
- Three to five years relevant experience in information technology support
- Troubleshooting skills with software and hardware on laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment and handheld equipment
- Excellent English Communication Skills (oral and written)
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
- Critical thinker with attention to details
- Excellent knowledge of Windows 2003 server
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite of products
- Excellent knowledge of active directory, DHCP, WINS, DNS
- Strong experience with user and group policy settings specific to servers
- Excellent knowledge of VMware
- Experience with single points of failure remediation and redundancy are considered advantageous
- ERP, EDI and AS/400 experience are considered advantageous
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility
- Strong leadership and problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain IT related records in an organized, tidy and confidential manner
- Support and contribute to the Quality Systems and Environmental Systems Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining servers, desktop units, phone system and critical application in stable running order
- Troubleshooting software, desktop and network problems and devising business solutions
- Overseeing hardware and software deployment; ensure network, desktop and phone system functionality and outages are fixed
- Assure the disaster recovery of information systems; maintain business data links between software applications
- Maintain user account information and perform security items as assigned
- Planning and scheduling required maintenance and resources to maintain an efficient network operation and upgrading current software and hardware
- Prepare activity reports by collecting, summarizing, analyzing and quantifying information
- Planning and maintaining processes and procedures to meet network, desktop and user requirements
- Protecting the security of the network as prescribed by the Company's policies and procedures
- Monitoring and evaluating the efficiency of software/hardware usage; and installing new software application or hardware on the network, desktop and mobile devices
- Adding and maintaining users on the network
- Monitoring and reporting licenses on applications, servers, desktops and other equipment to ensure compliance
- Ensure all network and desktop patches are applied and functioning without conflict
- Recommending improvements in network structure, products and processes
- Communicating with and supporting users in developing and using needed technological solutions; and establishing and enforcing organization standards
- Purchasing of IT related equipment and services
- Liaison with outside consultants, vendors and service providers
- Providing user orientation on hardware, software, or mobile device operations
- Compliance with Corporate policies and procedures
- Implement internal controls at the division and ensure compliance with Bill 198
- Provide continuous improvement ideas to enhance departmental performance and all aspect of the job
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Assist the manager in organizing, planning and implementing strategy
- Coordinate operations
- Ensure schedules and objectives are met
- Supervision and motivation of staff
- Monitor operating costs, budgets and resources
- Create reports, analyze and interpret data
- Assist the manager with budget preparation and maintenance
