Job Description
Determines ways to repair or prevent corrosion on industrial machinery at a manufacturing plant or infrastructure projects, such as metal bridges, oil and gas pipelines, mines, and waste management facilities.
Collection and analysis of the project technical specifications issued by the Oil/Gas Company and International Standards Bodies (EN, ISO).
Definition of the anticorrosion strategy using CP/COATING/PAINTING/CHEMICAL TREATMENT/CRA (corrosion resistant alloy) in order to optimize quality and costs.
Liaising continuously with major material/equipment suppliers regarding the latest developments in technologies.
Issuing of engineering corrosion philosophy document including pipeline and Topside equipment review. Interface with Equipment/Electrical/Instrumental engineering disciplines.
Transfer of the corrosion strategy to the discipline responsible for CP/Painting and Coating design.
Design of the chemical treatment and CRA. Corrosion failure analysis upon Project/Assets request.
Interfacing with Installation Engineering Functions to solve the anti-corrosion problems of different projects.
Definition of laboratory experimental work in corrosion field.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of working experience is required. Candidates must be a Bachelor's/College Degree holder in Engineering (Chemical), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Metallurgical), Engineering (Petroleum/Oil/Gas) or similar fields. NACE (AMPP) Corrosion Specialist, API 571, 580, 570 & 510.
Has a wide knowledge in corrosion assessments, material selection, damage mechanisms, metallurgy, and root cause analysis (RCA).
