Overview:

The Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe is seeking an experienced Group Sales Manager to join our hotel team and promote our fully renovated product, scheduled to be completed by 2025. The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for the development and maximization of revenue for group sales by creating and implementing a proactive and global sales and marketing effort for The Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe. The Group Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting and servicing business in the hotel in accordance with the assigned market segments. Responsible for generating group guest room and other revenues as directed by the Director of Hotel Sales. Also responsible for maximizing profitability and ensuring overall guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing and building relationships as it relates to group rooms segment with corporate, association and incentive accounts.
  • Proven record of prospecting, solicitations, and business development within hotel sales market.
  • Ability to evaluate business opportunities and maximize revenue.
  • Negotiate, prepare, and execute contracts in accordance with sales policies and guidelines. Excellent closing skills.
  • Possess a strong drive and business acumen to effectively sell and discern the best revenue opportunities for overall property. Clear understanding to yield business opportunity based on market demands, pattern, total value, and seasonality.
  • Lead and implement a strategic and comprehensive SMART Plan to achieve group and individual revenue goals for a luxury hotel product.
  • Analyze and conduct market research to fully understand competitive set, market conditions and current business trends.
  • Meaningful engagement with customers, ability to analyze needs and create tailored proposals and presentations that represent a casino product.
  • Create long-term loyalty as a result of total account management rather than transaction-oriented selling.
  • Ability to effectively organize and participate in client entertainment/FAM’s, special promotions, tours, site inspections and presentations.
  • Ability to collaborate on sales and marketing budgets for the department.
  • Actively manage sales systems and utilize Delphi effectively.
  • Active involvement and networking within business organizations that can influence and assist in achieving sales goals.
  • Ability to travel for sales developments, tradeshows and conferences.
  • Ability to upsell and cross sell.
  • The ability to handle difficult or unexpected situations in the workplace.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Solid decision-making, problem solving, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills, business development and market research.
  • Superior interpersonal and communications skills including exemplary written and oral communication/presentation skills, comfort conducting business by phone as this is the preferred method of first contact.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and sense of urgency in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Display professional conduct, sound judgment, the highest level of professional integrity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
  • Three years of group sales experience within the hotel industry.
  • Casino hotel experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Delphi, Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.

Regulatory and Compliance:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Hotel’s programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consults with the appropriate individuals and maintains an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with Nevada Gaming Regulations and Minimum Internal Control Standard.
  • Takes the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Reports items addressed by the “Compliance Questionnaire” as they occur to the Compliance Officer or his designate.
  • Reports any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any staff member that they have knowledge of.

Posted Salary Range: USD $65,000.00 - USD $85,000.00 /Yr.
