We are seeking a Software Engineer to be a member of the IT Team supporting mission critical Design & Construction Project Management business systems for Johns Hopkins Facilities and Real Estate (JHFRE). Reporting to the Information Systems Manager, the individual will primarily focus on supporting the project management information system (PMIS), currently PMWeb. These systems are used to record and manage project schedules, deliverables, financials, workflows, and participants.

The growth goals for the PMIS include ongoing engagement and participation, integration to financial systems, integration to contractor database application, and development of productivity toolsets. The Software Engineer will work collaboratively with department leadership, system core users, IT teams, and vendors.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Effective operation, system maintenance, defining scope and design of enhancements, integrations, and management of implementations and upgrades for the PMIS.
  2. Serve as technical lead and product owner for the PMIS, currently PMWeb, within the JHU organization.
  3. Establish system scope and objectives in conjunction with Design & Construction leadership and stakeholders, and drive system development and implementation in response to prioritized needs.
  4. Communicate and collaborate with PMIS counterpart at the Johns Hopkins Medical business unit.
  5. Develop and support related applications and tools integrated with the PMIS, such as dashboards, reports, productivity toolsets, and the contractor database application, currently B2Gnow.
  6. Guide and perform PMIS configuration, development, customization, and auditing of utilization.
  7. Serve as the primary PMIS point of contact for internal leadership, JHU IT, and 3rd party IT vendors.
  8. Participate in and help drive PMIS visioning for JHU as system of record for all construction information.
  9. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, leadership, and construction operations to inform and guide efforts for system improvements.
  10. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to realize PMIS as central source of all construction project related information.
  11. Provide technical support and guidance to PMWeb users as needed.
  12. Develop and deliver scheduled trainings for system usage and best practices for effective utilization.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Five years' experience in configuring, administering, and supporting database application Information Systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience and knowledge of the facilities construction industry, including terms, involved parties, phases, requirements, finances, procurement, project management, and workflows.
