ProSidian seeks a Diversity and Inclusion Consultant/Coach to support an engagement for an independent agency of the United States Federal Government that is concerned with conducting and performing research into treating and preventing diseases affecting the eye or vision. The agency has a mission to prolong and protect the vision of the American people.

The ProSidian Engagement Team Members work to aid in capturing and analyzing data to better inform senior leadership on diversity and inclusion within the NEI workforce and aid in developing a three to five-year strategic plan to improve the current state of inclusion through dedicated training, strategic initiatives, and community outreach.

Diversity and Inclusion Consultant/Coach candidates shall work to support requirements for Program Support and the primary role is to provide diversity and inclusion services which could include trainings, workshops, and change management.

  1. Project planning including a schedule of tasks and a communication plan to keep leadership, staff, and the greater NEI community informed of progress.
  2. Staff interviews to better understand the current state of diversity and inclusion at NEI.
  3. Analysis of current state data including interview synthesis and other available workforce data (e.g., demographics by lab/division).
  4. Strategic planning for diversity and inclusion initiatives based on findings.
  5. Change management planning related to initiatives.
  6. Implementation of strategic plan for diversity and inclusion.
  7. Dedicated diversity and inclusion workshopping, especially for senior leadership and managers.

The Diversity and Inclusion Consultant/Coach shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years. Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email and be proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

• Significant expertise and experience with diversity and inclusion initiatives in both the public and private sectors.

• Ability to leverage research and experience on a wide variety of diversity issues at the global level to better assist an organization with a multicultural and multinational makeup.

• Significant research and experience in understanding how diversity and inclusion issues impact performance.

• Ability to provide personnel with a wide variety of experience including specialists in biomedical research, diversity and inclusion, strategic planning, and organizational design.

• Hands-on experience developing and utilizing industry best practices with large organizations across the world.

• Examples of past thought partnership work on diversity and inclusion issues with a variety of organizations.

• Proven track record of creating sustainable diversity and inclusion change within large client organizations including building and training client teams to maintain momentum and continue to improve beyond the consult period.

TRAVEL: Travel as coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations. LOCATION: Work shall be conducted at the CONUS/OCONUS - Bethesda, MD.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a “Facility Access Authorization” (also referred to as an “Employment Authorization”) by the USG’s designated Security Office.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Business Tools: understanding and proficiency with business tools and technology, including Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate is advanced with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, and proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio with the ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
