Position Summary

As a Senior Production Controller, you'll play a vital role in the production flow of the production activities in the FAL by supporting continuous flow to ensure the accurate and timely processing of activities bar customers. Additionally, be vigilant in identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement activities throughout the Production System.

Responsibilities

* Assist in production activity control to meet business objectives.

* Work with Production Manager to plan and anticipate production tasks to improve runtime (such as gate reviews, repairs, routing status, etc.).

* Work with Production Planner to ensure production and kits orders are available based on the production plan to ensure continuous operations.

* Participates in reviewing daily/weekly production plans, in Final Assembly, to identify and report potential risks to Production Manager and Production Planner.

* Master production flow techniques to proactively avoid shortages and minimize bottlenecks.

* Review End Of Shift (EOS) pass downs from previous day to assist Production Manager and Production Planner to anticipate on roadblocks and recovery plans to the game plan. Assists on stand-up meetings.

* Monitor progress of production and work with Production Planner and IPT Manager to adjust schedules for timely delivery.

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge on company objectives, production strategies and support activities.

* Work with cross-functional teams to keep continues production flow on-time and within customer specifications.

* Works with Production Manager and Production Planners to maintain a buffer of validated modules for final integration based on production needs.

* Communicate production updates to Production Manager and FAL Management on regular basis.

* Apply and execute Continuous Improvement techniques throughout the Production Process.

* This onsite position reports to the Sr. Production Manager and it's located in Merritt Island, Florida.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of production floor control/management
  • Manufacturing floor management / supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, hands-on environment
  • Proactive and autonomous, decision maker
  • Flexibility, team orientation, ability, and willingness to learn
  • Effective Communication skills
  • Strong networking and relations building skills
  • Interpersonal skills to drive production goals
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively across the organization
  • Solid understanding of test flow and functional inter-relationships
  • Skilled in the use of Outlook, Excel, Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Word, and TEAMS
  • Prior Small satellite manufacturing and test experience required
  • Understanding of LEAN principles and how to incorporate in a factory setting
  • Strong background in aerospace industry

Travel Required:

* Up to 10% travel required

* Ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance

  • Carrying: able to carry documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
