The accounting clerk plays a key role by providing administrative and accounting support, ranging from document preparation and bank deposits to resolving accounting issues. They ensure compliance with standards and laws, manage communication with suppliers, perform client bank reconciliation, and respond to various report requests and client inquiries, thereby contributing to the financial stability of the company.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Provide accounting and administrative support to the accounting department
- Prepare and maintain documents and accounting records
- Prepare bank deposits and entries in the general ledger
- Enter daily financial transaction data into the database
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Investigate, track, and resolve accounting or documentation issues and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on business areas
- Operate in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws
- Reconcile credit cards
- Manage emails, scan documents, and answer phone calls
- Monitor and communicate with suppliers
- Perform any other related tasks
- Conduct activities related to client bank reconciliation
- Perform various accounting operations
- Generate additional reports upon client request
- Respond to various client inquiries
- Obtain and validate insurance certificates
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable Clerk
- Communication skills, written and verbal, in French
- Written and verbal communication skills in English would be considered an asset
- High school diploma
- Certification in accounting is an asset
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software
- Organizational skills and resourcefulness
