The Product team sits within the Product & Client Solutions group of the Corporate & Institutional Services business which aims to provide best in class front-to-back services to Asset Managers and Asset Owners across the world.

The Sr. Product Manager role has 4 areas of responsibilities. These include:

  • Product Management Capability Lead -Custody Product Manager for asset pricing, and account opening
  • Product Liaison -Primary liaison between Custody Product and the following product groups – foreign exchange, and cash. The liaison responsibilities will include reviewing FX and cash from a custody lens to ensure custody implications are taken into account with their strategy and operating model.
  • Capital Liaison -Lead liaison between Custody Product, and Product Management Capital in the capital planning and approval process, and the monthly spend versus budgeted reporting. Partner with Custody Product managers to educate them on timelines, requirements, etc.
  • Program Management - Lead the Asset Classification program to determine what issues types should be on our system, and how they should be classified.

The primary responsibilities for these 4 areas of responsibility include:

  • Developing market insights for target client segment markets and evaluating industry trends.
  • Formulating strategy for the group by aligning cross functional teams, uncovering opportunities and determining life cycle states.
  • Shaping the value proposition, develop the business case and define the marketing mix model as part of the new product planning process.
  • Leading and introducing new products to the market by securing regulatory approvals, publishing marketing material and conducting sales training.
  • Assessing industry movement and refine value based pricing post the launch of new products.
  • Attending and presenting at industry events and publishing in industry publications.
  • Providing sales support including presenting at client and prospect meetings.
  • Creating strategies for cross-program coordination and go-to market rollouts.
  • Carrying out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues.
  • Displaying a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.
  • Conducting post launch audits, tracks product success, analyses P &L, metrics, KPIs, Makes recommendations for improvements to promotional programs.

The ideal candidate should have a fair amount of the following qualities:

  • Prior experience in a Custody bank
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, non-verbal and written
  • Proven proficiency in constructing/overseeing logical and conclusive presentations, distilling complex subject matter into management-ready materials
  • Strong understanding of client needs and how this impacts the product development agenda/roadmap
  • Proven expertise in building key relationships, influencing and negotiating with clients, partners and leaders across multiple disciplines
  • Prior programme or project management experience is advantageous; especially relating to planning, analysis, design and governance
  • Knowledge of business strategy development is necessary to provide long term planning and to manage the profitability/performance of a major business segment.
  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.
  • A College or University degree and/or relevant work experience in a business or strategic development related area
