Role Overview
Benchling is looking for a product leader for our Core Application Platform team. This person will lead the team responsible for guiding the design, development, and delivery of the primitives, tools, and applications that surround the ability for developers and admins to create new products, experiences, and services with Benchling. Benchling Platform is critical as we look to scale our business.
What makes Benchling Platform different is that we’ve taken an integrated approach to the R&D lifecycle. This role requires a desire to deeply understand the capabilities of the platform, the number of ways developers and admins build on top of Benchling, and strong curiosity of the science behind biotechnology.
We’re looking for a Product Leader who can up-level our team and platform user journeys. This role is perfect for leaders who take a systems thinking approach, have an ownership mentality for driving impact, focus on empathy and product craft, and love to constantly see how much faster we can learn and execute.
Responsibilities
- Lead product management for our core application platform offerings.
- Engage with customers and Benchling fields teams to understand requirements and use cases.
- Set the vision for the platform primitives that will help accelerate development amongst internal development teams.
- Make the admins that use Benchling empowered.
- Comfortable with rapid prototyping, incremental shipping to deliver value to users, while also knowing the need to deliver stable features to our admins and developers. You ensure we ship well-crafted products at a timely pace.
- Collaborate very closely with Engineering and Design to develop new product capabilities.
- Partner with Customer Experience, Marketing, and Sales to improve the use of our products through pre- and post-sales conversations.
Qualifications
- 8+ years product management with strong preference for experience building B2B SaaS or Developer Tools products.
- Must have experience developing Junior PMs.
- Ability to think in systems. Understanding what a customer wants and how that might impact various aspects of our product is essential.
- Experience with providing technical solutions to internal-to-Benchling and external customers.
- Demonstrated experience setting direction and influencing stakeholders.
- A strong curiosity around the science processes that power the R&D lifecycle.
SALARY RANGE
Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role, the base salary range is $192k to $260k.
