SDG is seeking a Managing Director of Delivery who is responsible for the direction, leadership, and performance of a subset of SDG’s consulting business. This is a highly dynamic and important role with broad responsibilities and multiple priorities that change frequently according to business cycles and initiatives. This role serves multiple internal customers including consultants, sales, marketing, recruiting, and human resources, and requires the ability to effectively work multiple concurrent work streams.

This role will be an ambassador for SDG, both internally and externally. The Managing Director of Delivery reports to SDG’s President.


Responsibilities
  • Responsible for organization, direction, and strategic vision for the Delivery team
  • Provide guidance, leadership and a positive example for teammates
  • Plan and deliver practice meetings, and serve as a key member of the Practice Leadership Team
  • Responsible for monitoring and meeting quarterly KPIs and practice fiscal performance
  • Possess deep knowledge of consultant skills, capabilities, roles served, and goals, while using this information to make educated business decisions
  • Responsible for consultant development, advocacy, and delivering annual reviews
  • Effectively problem solves and overcomes obstacles, while easily building trust
  • Responsible for engagement management on some projects, including project role definition, team formation, and project kickoffs
  • Provide resource alignment for each project, while managing rates
  • Oversee policies, procedures, methods and tools for the practice as a whole
  • Responsible for partnering with recruiting to hire consultants, which includes hiring forecasting, developing candidate profiles, conducting interviews, making hiring decisions, and supporting new hire onboarding
  • Build and maintain highly effective relationships internally and externally, and make decisions leading by SDG’s core values
  • Educate sales team on team’s direction and capabilities
  • Partner with sales team by authoring proposals, which includes planning and estimating project timelines, resources, and budgets
  • Support our learning and social communities
  • Support digital marketing efforts
  • Other projects as assigned
Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise technology
  • 5+ years of consulting experience
  • 5+ years of technology leadership experience
  • Has held a lead role in multiple large-scale projects that were successfully delivered
  • Closely collaborated with influencers, decision makers, and other stakeholders
  • Broad knowledge of information technology with an emphasis in application development, project delivery and professional services
  • Successful track record of sales engineering and business development
  • Experience evaluating talent, conducting interviews, and hiring
  • Solid understanding of current market trends in technology and technology delivery
  • Demonstrated thought leader in practice specialization
  • Ability to think strategically and skillful in planning and developing solutions
  • General understanding of accounting basics including balance sheets
  • Proven ability to work together with others to resolve complex issues
  • Able to identify risks, manage customer expectations, and evaluate alternative options
  • Highly adept at creating and delivering presentations
  • Well organized and able to prioritize work based on organizational needs
  • Demonstrates a high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to reliably focus, create and deliver under tight timelines
  • Possesses a high EQ and exceptional empathy
