JOB DESCRIPTION:

ANSER is seeking a Deputy Country Director to support our work with Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs (SAF/IA). SAF/IA advances U.S. national security by cultivating deep, enduring relationships through security cooperation with our Allies and Partners in support of U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force global operations. The Deputy Country Director will manage all aspects of the United States - Korea Security Cooperation (SC) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. These tasks include:

  1. Coordinate daily activities between U.S. defense agencies, U.S. defense industry, U.S. Government reading and Korean military.
  2. Develop Congressional Notifications for FMS cases.
  3. Orchestrate action on FMS programs to advance the US-Korea air force relationship.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with key authorities from U.S. and UAE Defense agencies, ministerial-level organizations, and military components.
  5. Event planning for trade events and senior leader engagement.
  6. Track progress and efficacy of UAE FMS cases.
  7. Lead program management reviews and delegations to UAE.
  8. Host foreign partners for U.S. visits.
  9. Track correspondence between USAF and Korea Air Force.
  10. Compose written responses to Korea Air Force inquiries.
  11. Engage with Korea Embassy in Washington DC.
  12. 20% domestic and international travel.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • A minimum of five years of professional experience with either the U.S. Air Force, Navy, PACOM, PACAF, or DoD, international relations.
  • Three years of experience with USAF Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and utilizing standard computer applications.
  • Experience working F-16 or F-35 programs.
  • Project or Program Management Experience.
  • Experience with DoD acquisition policies, laws, regulations, and guidance.
  • Must be comfortable working in Korea and foreign travel.

Preferred:

  • Event planning experience.
  • 5 years experience on the F-16 and F-35 either on the aircraft or program support.
  • Experience working with OSD, DSCA or SAF/IA.
  • Ability to provide strategic planning, policy, resourcing, and implementation approaches.
  • Outstanding writing and speaking skills.
  • Master’s Degree.
