Our law firm in Santa Monica, California, is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Commercial Litigation Attorney with 8-10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will have an immediate opportunity to take on substantial litigation matters, with a focus on commercial litigation, and will play a pivotal role in delivering top-notch legal services to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully executing legal strategies, managing complex litigation cases, and advocating for clients in a variety of dispute-resolution forums.
The day-to-day!
- Develop and execute legal strategies to resolve complex commercial litigation matters efficiently and effectively.
- Provide guidance to junior attorneys and support staff on case management and strategy.
- Ensure that all litigation matters adhere to ethical and professional standards.
- Conduct and defend depositions, including expert witnesses and fact witnesses.
- Engage in motion practice, including drafting, arguing, and responding to motions.
- Prepare for and represent clients at trial, arbitration, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution forums.
- Handle hearings and related court appearances.
- Manage the identification and production of witnesses for depositions, trials, and other proceedings.
- Prepare witnesses for their testimonies, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident.
- Advocate for clients' interests at all stages of litigation, providing sound legal counsel and guidance.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to keep them informed of case developments and obtain their input.
- Oversee the collection, review, and production of documents and evidence, ensuring compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.
- Use your experience in real estate and commercial construction litigation to handle cases involving disputes in these areas.
- Apply your knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to benefit our clients.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
- Analyze and interpret case law, statutes, and regulations to provide clients with insightful legal advice.
You Bring!
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar.
- 8-10 years of experience in commercial litigation, with a strong focus on dispute resolution and advocacy.
- Proven success in handling complex litigation matters, including taking depositions, motions, trials, and arbitration.
- Prior experience in a law firm environment, demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead junior attorneys.
- Specialized knowledge or experience in real estate or commercial construction litigation is preferred but not required.
