Optum Perks is a suite of B2C and B2B applications and services built atop pharmacy data. You will work with modern technologies on a suite of microservices and back-end APIs that help millions of users make their prescriptions more affordable.

In this role you will play a significant part in solutioning, designing, and developing microservice and other cloud components to support commercial APIs and consumer-facing applications. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with the business, product management, and members of a remote US-based engineering team. You will apply your skills in an innovative, forward-thinking environment that follows industry best practices and fosters engineering culture.

Where You'll Be

To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on a hybrid in-office work schedule. We expect employees to work from our Minneapolis office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.

What You’ll Do

  1. Collaborate with product and IT stakeholders to build an understanding of systems or APIs involved in integrations.
  2. Demonstrate a strong interest in microservice & API architecture and solution design.
  3. Recommend complex integrated solutions that fulfill business requirements and align with technology roadmaps.
  4. Design and develop product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
  5. Contribute to defining technical road maps; identify technical improvement and refactoring opportunities.
  6. Ensure that all delivered solutions adhere to industry best practices for scalability, maintainability, usability, availability, extensibility, security, and portability.
  7. Work with geographically distributed Agile teams across the USA.
  8. Provide accurate and timely estimates for features, user stories, and tasks.
  9. Identify and implement innovative solutions to non-standard requests and problems.
  10. Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices.
  11. Be aware of current security trends, tools, and requirements.
  12. Provide input to planning activities.
  13. Participate in rotational on-call schedules as needed.
  14. Work outside of standard office hours as needed and, on occasion, support night-time releases.

What We’re Looking For

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field OR equivalent experience.
  2. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java.
  3. 3+ years of hands-on experience with TypeScript / JavaScript.
  4. 3+ years of experience with MicroServices.
  5. 3+ years of working experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  6. 2+ years of Experience with Azure.
  7. 1+ years of Experience with Relational Databases.
  8. Software Implementation and integration experience.
  9. Working knowledge of, or experience with, Agile development lifecycle.

Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company. The following benefits are provided by RVO Health, subject to eligibility requirements.

  1. Starting Salary: $118,650 - $160,000*
  2. Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications and experience.
