HDR is seeking a Senior Geochemist with 10 or more years of experience. Thesuccessful candidate may be based in one of HDR's Colorado offices, butother locations will also be considered. This individual will support ongoingproject workload, as well as interface with clients, lead and team on thepursuit of new work. The primary duties of this position include a range ofscientific, monitoring, testing, and modeling services for a variety ofenvironmental projects at locations such as industrial facilities, powerstations, abandoned and operating mines, and water supplies. This positionrequires a versatile professional that is eager to learn and values theopportunity for professional development through a variety of projectassignments. The position will require travel/field-work (up to 25%)with most work conducted in Colorado but may require support for otherprojectsIn the role of Geochemist, we'll count on you toLead the planning and implementation of geochemical investigations to assesssoils, groundwater, or surface water metals impacts.Interpret geochemical data to assess the nature and extent of contaminants inenvironmental matrices.Develop conceptual models of geochemical processes to support sitecharacterization, remediation, and water management planning.Collaborate with hydrogeologists, geologists, environmental scientists,and engineers to integrate geochemical data into groundwater or surface watermodels.Conduct geochemical modeling using PHREEQC or Geochemist WorkbenchCoordinate with labs and conduct data review and validationPerform other related duties as necessary.Work both independently on small projects and as part of larger project teamsto assist senior personnel.Interface with clients on existing projects and the development of new work.Preferred QualificationsExperience working on environmental projects involving soil and groundwatercontamination, remediation, and exploration/mining.Experience conducting technical evaluations and data computation to evaluatesupport compliance and contaminant fate and transport evaluations.Demonstrated knowledge of conceptual site models and the ability to criticallyanalyze these models to identify data gaps and inform field investigationscoping activities.Knowledge of geochemical modeling software (PHREEQC, Geochemist Workbench)Demonstrated basic working skills with GIS, Microsoft Excel and Word.Strong technical writing skills.Demonstrated mentoring leadership skills.Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.Proven skills in developing proposals and winning work for multi-disciplinaryteams.Experience conducting geochemical evaluations to support mining operations.Experience with environmental permitting.Qualified Environmental Person certification or licensure is a plus.MSHA Part 48 training is a plus.#LI-LA1

Bachelor's degree in Environment Science or closely related field10 years experience in complex environmental planning/compliance projectsDemonstrated knowledge of the NEPA processDemonstrated knowledge of the NEPA processExperience managing large, complex EIS documents for transportation, l rgefacility, land management, or other infrastructure projectsTechnical expertise in the design, implementation, interpretation andpresentation of data for environmental studies and investigations inspecialized disciplineProficient with MS OfficeSelf-starter with excellent writing and communication skillsStrong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStaff management experience beneficialAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of ouremployee-owned culture is a must
