About Nexus

The Nexus Project is a scientific and engineering effort bringing truth to the field of computation. We’re enabling bringing to life a new form of compute: verifiable computation, powered by open science and open-source software so it can benefit everyone. Our work aims to bring to life decades of advancements in zero-knowledge cryptography, achieved by many scientists, engineers, and mathematicians, into a single software system.

Nexus raised $25M in Series A funding, co-led by Lightspeed and Pantera, with participation from Dragonfly, SV Angel and more.

Our team consists of some of the world's top cryptographers, mathematicians, and engineers, all working together with one goal: to unite the world's computers and prove humanity's computations.

We are headquartered at the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco, and this role will be in-person, with the rest of the Nexus team.


Job Overview

Nexus is seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter to join our Talent team. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing innovative recruiting strategies to attract, assess, and close top-tier technical talent. Your expertise in full-cycle recruiting, coupled with your understanding of the startup ecosystem and technical roles, will be instrumental in building our team of world-class engineers, cryptographers, and mathematicians.


Responsibilities

  1. Lead full-cycle recruitment processes for technical roles, from sourcing to closing candidates
  2. Develop and implement creative sourcing strategies to build a robust pipeline of top-tier technical talent
  3. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and create compelling job descriptions
  4. Conduct initial screenings and assessments to evaluate candidates' technical skills and cultural fit
  5. Manage the interview process, including scheduling, coordinating with interviewers, and gathering feedback
  6. Negotiate offers and close candidates, serving as a brand ambassador for Nexus
  7. Continuously refine and improve our recruitment processes to enhance efficiency and candidate experience
  8. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices in technical recruiting
  9. Contribute to building and maintaining a positive team culture and employer brand

Requirements

  1. 5+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, with a preference for startup experience
  2. Proven track record of successfully sourcing and closing top-tier technical candidates
  3. Deep understanding of various technical roles and the ability to assess technical skills
  4. Strong network within the tech industry and experience recruiting for highly competitive markets
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a keen ability to build relationships
  6. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a can-do attitude
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach to recruiting
  8. Passion for technology and ability to understand and articulate technical concepts

Bonus Points

  1. Bachelor or advanced degree in a technical field or related discipline
  2. Experience in diversity and inclusion recruiting initiatives
  3. Experience with recruitment marketing and employer branding strategies
  4. Experience in organizing or participating in tech recruiting events or hackathons
  5. Familiarity with cryptography, blockchain, or related fields
  6. Experience with data-driven recruiting and analytics tools such as Ashby
