Job Description
Join our successful sales team as the National Sales Manager for The Home Depot (THD). You will manage our existing products and programs in this role and pursue new business opportunities with THD. You will lead an internal support team and manage internal departmental relationships to create strategic sales objectives, guide resource allocation, and optimize business performance in promoting our Air Compressor, Lawn & Garden, Fencing, and Animal Containment product lines at THD. As a National Account Manager, you will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Sourcing, Customer Service, Accounting, and Logistics.
Principle Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at The Home Depot Company (THD), promoting future sales opportunities while delivering exceptional service.
- Oversee, lead and execute all Home Depot Product Line Review (PLR) activities for each department.
- Maintain a strong relationship with the THD MET team and schedule regular store walks and regional training sessions.
- Participate and attend all Merchant store walks, product events, POG development, etc.
- Actively review POS reporting tools to ensure all products meet performance goals.
- Create margin analyses for all new business opportunities and review existing programs quarterly to determine profitability.
- Work closely with the IPR team to ensure target in-stock levels.
- Engage the internal support team to create processes and systems that increase efficiencies and deliver exceptional service.
- Ensure new business opportunities are managed to customer expectations from the start of a project to final in-store execution. I.e., quotes, samples, packaging, artwork, online content, forecasts, and in-store POP.
- Monitor and manage THD scorecards.
- Analyze current Planograms to maximize retail sales, margins, and GMROII while offering improved POG concepts.
- Identify new ways to simplify and standardize product offerings while maximizing profits.
- Work closely to analyze e-Commerce business initiatives with Home Depot, including content management, driving promotional strategy, and partnering with the MAT e-Commerce team to meet online objectives.
- Analyze and control expenses to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Develop and implement systems to accurately forecast revenue generation, unit demand, and the flow of orders.
- Participate and provide updates in monthly S&OP meetings.
- Attend relevant trade shows and lead sales presentations to promote products and identify/close sales opportunities for greater market share.
- Actively participate and create an annual sales and profitability budget.

- Experience using the THD VIS System.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when required.
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and trade shows as required.
Education/Experience
- Depth and breadth of experience selling to The Home Depot required.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 – 10 years of relevant experience.
