The ASI Chief Financial Auditor, reports to the Executive Vice President and is responsible for the preparation and delivery of the audit reports of the operators to the Government, consisting of financial, technical and environmental audits.
Essential Functions
- Maintain database of pro-forma operational audit proposals and contracts for hydrocarbon and metal and minerals operational audit services.
- Issue draft operational audit hydrocarbon and metal and mineral proposals and contracts upon receipt of Government request.
- Travel to potential Government clients as part of the Executive Team to present hydrocarbon and metal and mineral operational audit service proposals and contracts.
- Prepare the draft and preliminary reports related to the operational audit for ASI Management review and approval. These are Financial, Technical and Environmental audit reports.
- Travel to overseas government locations for Operator kick-off meetings and to present audit findings to the Government.
- Acquire a working knowledge of the Operator companies under contract with the Government.
- Become familiar with the terms and conditions of Convention and Production Sharing Contracts (PSA's) between the Government and the Operator.
- Coordinate the development of the "Documents Request" list for the operators.
- Research and analyze financial statements, tax returns and cost oil accounts and other audit related issues.
- Assist the local country ASI Managing Director in the audit engagement, which includes planning, directing, and completing the oil company financial audits.
- Report on Operator compliance with Government policies and procedures.
- Assist the foreign Government in the negotiation with the Operator of any financial recovery as a result of the audit findings.
- Perform other jobs related duties as necessary.
- Work experience in upstream oil operations and/or mining operations.
- Accounting background in oil, gas, metals and minerals operations and reporting.
- Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills and good presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field required, (Master's degree desired).
- 12 years' technical experience in related field required
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible management positions
- CPA desired.
- This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) all the time
- This position requires the ability to spend all the time viewing computer monitors
- This position requires overnight international travel 25 - 50% of the time.
- Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train.
