Electrical Manager


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure electrical personnel are performing their jobs safely and correctly.
  • Ensure urgent failures are attended to and resolved swiftly.
  • Develop and manage a maintenance program that ensures electrical equipment is kept in good working condition.
  • Keep track of maintenance data/records to develop a useful history.
  • Provide technical knowledge to assist with new installations, equipment failures, and training.
  • Monitor daily activities and ensure that priorities are appropriately managed.
  • Utilize SAP for many essential job functions such as creating and managing work orders, tracking history, and parts management.
  • Coordinate shutdown planning and oversee the execution of shutdown work.
  • Analyze data to predict failures and identify root causes.
  • Research and purchase parts required for maintenance, upgrades, repairs, replacements, etc.
  • Utilize computer software to program, troubleshoot, and maintain various electrical equipment.
  • Convey necessary directives and information from management.
  • Work with the Planner to create and update the daily work schedules.
  • Review and update manuals, drawings, bill of materials, and library regularly.
  • Ensure that required quarterly/annual inspections and calibrations are carried out correctly and on time.
  • Hold interviews with electrician candidates and make decisions about hiring.
  • Coordinate and manage contractor activities.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation with the rest of the maintenance leadership team.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities;

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering area, such as electrical engineering, is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years as electrical coordinator or supervisor in heavy industry, mining, or cement plant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial mining facility (preferably cement).
  • Experience working with electrical equipment/installations in a heavy industrial setting, including VFDs, low—and medium-voltage switchgear, I/O systems, protective relays, industrial motors, and instrumentation. Experience leading/supervising electricians.
  • Electrical Engineer or Electrical Supervisor in a heavy industrial setting, cement, or mining industry.
  • MSHA 46, supervisory skills, VFD, motor maintenance and the National Electric Code, SAP, NFPA 70E arc flash training, and Radiation Safety Office Training are preferred.
