Ascension Saint Thomas Heart is the cardiac division of Ascension Saint Thomas Medical Partnersand boasts one of the most experienced cardiac programs in the country. Our
program includes more than 80 cardiac specialists serving a large regional network of more
than 40 practice locations. Ascension Saint Thomas Heart in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking a
talented and ambitious advanced heart failure cardiologist (invasive or non-invasive) with expertise in diagnosing, managing and treating advanced heart failure, including the use of mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices and heart transplantation.
Our Ascension Saint Thomas Heart West practice currently consists of 36 physicians - 5 heart failure physicians, 7 cardiac surgeons, 10 interventional cardiologists, 6 electrophysiologists, 8 general cardiologists. The advanced heart failure program consists of 5 advanced heart failure
cardiologists. Four of the physicians rotate hospital call at AST West and the 5th advanced heart cardiologist serves in a heart failure outreach provider role. The HF cardiologists are also supported by HF Advanced Nurse Practitioners in the hospital setting. We have three dedicated AHF surgeons as well as four additional surgeons that support the program. The heart failure program has ten total outpatient clinic locations throughout Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. We completed 53 heart transplants and 30 LVADs in the calendar year 2023. We maintain high quality clinical outcomes and are Joint Commission Advanced Destination Therapy VAD certified center.

Requirements
BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
Outreach to other locations is required at least one day per week
Strong interest and experience in managing heart failure disease

Required Credential(s):
Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. KY License also required if working in a Kentucky facility.
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
