Job Requirements / Description

An internship at Gen II provides a well-rounded experience as interns have an opportunity to work on a variety of client engagements under the supervision of more senior firm personnel. An internship will be specialized in the tax or accounting areas, but limited exposure to the non-selected specialty could be available if desired. Upon employment, tax interns will receive hourly compensation of $24.00. This is a non-exempt position.
Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with firm policies and procedures
  • Assume responsibility for completion of assignments
  • Obtain a detailed understanding of the client’s partnership agreement(s) and how to apply it to deliverables
  • Prepare federal and state tax returns and associated workpapers
  • Research various tax issues
  • Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments
  • Maintain and update partner/ investor data
  • Meet impromptu requests from clients and partners/ investors
  • Other assigned projects
Qualified candidates will possess the following experience and qualities:
Required attributes:
  • Plans to meet the educational requirements to be a CPA candidate upon graduation
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Thrive independently and as part of a team
Desired attributes:
  • Plans to obtain a Masters in Taxation or Masters in Accounting with an emphasis in tax
  • Knowledge of accounting/tax laws and regulations
  • Ability to multi-task while taking advantage of new learning opportunities
