Tax Manager

CornerStone Professional Placement has partnered with a trusted name in the dairy industry to seek out a talented Tax Manager to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. We are looking for 5+ years of relevant tax filing experience, with a strong preference for a CPA.
Job Title: Tax Manager
Location: Richardson, TX
Schedule: M-F, 8-5 (2 Days WFH!)
Salary: $140K+ BOE
Job Duties:

• Collaborates with external consultants for the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, including quarterly and annual provisions.
• Coordinates with consultants for federal, state, and local estimated tax payments as needed.
• Prepares multiple local tax filings.
• Oversees the preparation of sales, use, property, and other tax-related filings.
• Analyzes the impact of changes in tax laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels on the company.
• Manages tax examinations at federal, state, and local levels.
• Partners with external vendors and internal teams to develop, improve, and implement tax-related technology solutions.
• Monitors legislative changes in state sales tax laws that may affect the company's business and tax strategy, ensuring compliance with new rates.
• Performs additional responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA is preferred.
• 5-7 years relevant tax experience.
• Experience with a Big 4 firm or corporate tax department of a multi-state company is required.
• Experience with internal controls and automation initiatives.
• Proficient in tax preparation software (preferably Corptax), Microsoft suite, and ERP applications
• Strong management skills, supported by management experience.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to articulate complex technical tax concepts to colleagues and management.
