Job Summary
This position will be responsible for setting the overall tone and culture of the Wichita, KS facility consistent with the Ethics, Values, and Code of Business Conduct established by the leadership of the parent company. This role will provide overall direction, leadership, and oversight to the management team and workforce within the business, with the goal of generating employee engagement, maximum profitability and customer satisfaction. The Vice President & General Manager is responsible for the successful execution of programs, formulating and implementing winning strategies, balancing risk, and maximizing the strength of the combined functional staff.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of annual fiscal year business plans, objectives, and initiatives to ensure successful site performance and growth. Ensure specific goals, actions and initiatives are implemented and executed with favorable results.
- Manage communication to/from employees and continuously focus on engaging the workforce, promote positive employee relations, ensure fair problem-solving processes, and implement performance management systems.
- Ensure that on-time delivery and quality are consistent with customer requirements thus driving positive customer relationships.
- Serve as the face to external and internal customers including but not limited to company stakeholders, customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, community members, and state/local authorities.
- Attracts, selects, develops, trains, coaches, appraises, and motivates managers and other personnel for key staff positions.
- Ensure compliance with all government, financial, environmental, and labor regulations as required.
Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of progressive management and/or operations leadership experience within an FAA Part 145 repair or aviation manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
- Direct Profit and loss, or annual budget responsibility of $5 million or more.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing groups of twenty-five (25) or more employees.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, engineering, or operations. MBA preferred.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship on a continual and ongoing basis.
Additional Position Criteria
- Demonstrated success in total profit and loss leadership of an aerospace component repair or manufacturing business is required; must include ownership of all relevant business functions.
- Proven experience building dynamic, successful, high-performing teams, understanding how to motivate and inspire others is required.
- Demonstrable working knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement and their importance of driving cycle time and cost out of products produced is required.
- Demonstrated track record of establishing and leading a culture focused on achieving results through sound judgment, positive employee relations and empowerment, and pride in performance are required.
