About the Role
Join Baron's dedicated team as an Investment Specialist in the RIA and Family Office Group. This role is an opportunity to leverage your sales experience, foster meaningful connections, and showcase your in-depth product and capital market expertise. As a key team member working alongside our accomplished Regional Director, your mission is to ignite growth by propelling mutual fund sales and cultivating enduring client relationships within our Registered Investment Advisor sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Drive sales by developing, maintaining, and deepening relationships with both new and existing Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and influence Financial Advisors (FA) choices using a consultative sales process.
  • Partner with External Wholesaler to develop a business plan, manage a territory, and drive regional and corporate objectives.
  • Maintain and leverage an extensive understanding of all our custodial partners, with a primary focus on Schwab and Fidelity, as well as their respective platforms.
  • Proactively engage in outreach calls within your designated territory, advocating for the Firm while selling and building business.
  • Efficiently schedule meetings for the Regional Director's sales travel appointments and convert inbound calls from the territory into additional sales opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the features and benefits of Baron's product portfolio.
  • Conduct one-on-one Advisor meetings and/or deliver group presentations; attend and participate in work conferences when applicable (limited travel).
  • Continuously develop and update your knowledge of Baron's investment products and the industry. Provide scheduling support, prepare for meetings, manage relationships, and assist with events and exhibits.
  • Drive client relationships by establishing strong interpersonal connections and demonstrating a deep understanding of products, markets, and consultative sales.
  • Utilize software, including Discovery Database, Salesforce, and Morningstar to research business, log activities, and analyze and synthesize hypothetical scenarios.
  • Collaborate with the External Wholesaler to assemble and dispatch marketing kits and sales presentations during territory visits and conferences.
  • Work seamlessly as an integral part of our close-knit team, offering support for all sales and client service activities to achieve the team's goals.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Must hold Series 7.
  • Experience in the RIA niche marketplace a plus as well as specific experience being an "Internal Sales Associate."
  • Business Degree, CFA, or CFA Candidate a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism.
  • Possess a strong self-motivated and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate a history of successful financial product/mutual fund sales experience.
  • Showcase a deep understanding and experience specific to financial markets and equity mutual fund products.
  • Proven track record of successfully articulating financial and market strategies.
  • Dedication to focusing on sales-related activities that drive business development.
  • Possess a basic knowledge of the organization, its products, and its services.
  • Capable of multitasking and working efficiently under stress and high volume.
  • Proficiency in software applications (ex. Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce).

The base salary range for this position is based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition, it is eligible for commissions and annual discretionary bonus. It also participates in the Firm's 401(k) and Profit-Sharing Plan.
