*This position pays $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 based on experience*

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supports and practices the philosophy, objectives and standards of the nursing department, and participates in the revision of these as necessary to ensure that quality care is delivered to all residents.
  2. Coordinates interdisciplinary resident care management efforts.
  3. Ensures effective and deficient organization and staffing of the nursing.
  4. Ensures that nursing interventions meet the personal, physical and cognitive needs of each resident, as well as maximize his/her self-care capabilities, identity, independence, choice and opportunity for social.
  5. Monitors the outcomes of nursing service activity by evaluating the performance of the nursing staff.
  6. Ensures compliance with facility and regulatory agency standards, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
  7. Coordinates facility committees as necessary and appropriate.
  8. Monitors the effective and efficient use of budgeted resources (i.e. personnel, supplies, equipment).
  9. Ensures a safe and sanitary environment for residents and employees.
  10. Actively maintains cohesive public and professional relationships with residents, families, physicians and the community.
  11. Assumes full responsibility for the operation and management of the facility in the temporary absence of the Executive Director, or as directed by the Executive Director. In the absence of the ED, the DON is appointed to make administrative decisions.
  12. Participates in the development of policies and procedures that support nursing service objectives.
  13. Ensures the philosophy, objectives and standards of the nursing department are an integral part of the orientation and education of nursing service personnel.
  14. Incorporates nursing philosophy, standards and objectives into the evaluation process for staff and nursing services.

STANDARD RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supports the facility.
  2. Is knowledgeable of patient/resident rights and promotes an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
  3. Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for:
    1. Safety, including precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
    2. Confidentiality and privacy of all data, including patient/resident, employee and operations data.
    3. Compliance with all regulatory requirements.
    4. Compliance with and enforcement of current law and policy to provide a work environment free from harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
  4. Supports and participates in common teamwork:
    1. Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.
    2. Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
    3. Reports complaints, problems and concerns regarding co-workers, management or residents in accordance with company policy.
    4. Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
    5. Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
  5. Agrees to comply with the Standards of Business Conduct.
