About The Team
The Data Platform and Observability team is based in Pleasanton, CA, Boston, Atlanta and Dublin, Ireland. We enable real time insights across Workday’s platforms, infrastructure and applications. Our focus is on the development of a large-scale distributed data platforms and tools to support mission critical Workday applications. The team provides software for collection, ingestion, storage & visualization of critical data assets. We handle 100s of terabytes of data in the form of billions of messages produced daily by Workday applications and underlying services. About The Role
As a member of the Workday Insights team, you will work with the team to design and develop critical microservice APIs and frontend UI applications. Associate software development engineers are responsible for applying messaging technologies, databases, and other cloud-native services on AWS to collect, process and present Workday observability data to accurately represent the status of Workday applications and services to customers. You will work with metrics ingestion pipelines, alert definitions, and automation for data/dashboard lifecycle in creating a best-in-class application stack for Workday status. You will also work with the many different aspects of observability and have a keen eye for data quality, data integrity and data availability. Once you onboard and ramp, you will participate in the on-call rotation supporting the observability platform and services. Finally, you will work with partners in different teams in Workday to understand their requirements and their architecture, build applications that will provide the best observability features to them and Workday customers.
About You
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on engineering experience with a BS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience with back-end modules and microservice development, with Java, Go, Python, or Ruby.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud-based (AWS or GCP) technologies and development.
- Strong coding skills in one of the following languages: Java/Python/JavaScript.
Other Qualifications
- Prior experience with Spring framework.
- Experience with front-end technologies, including ReactJS, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Knowledge of distributed computing, Kubernetes, container-based technologies, and RDBMS development.
- Ability to work with a high degree of ambiguity and handle things with autonomy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $97,300 USD - $174,000 USD
