About the Position:

The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for planning, installing, maintaining, and upgrading IT systems, including our network security and cloud-computing platforms. They will proactively develop solutions specific to our school methodologies, including designing new systems, upgrading hardware, and maintaining existing systems to ensure the technological environment for the school is operational. The IT Infrastructure Manager reports to the Information Technology Director. This job description is meant to provide an outline of the responsibilities of the position, but there may be other duties assigned as the needs of the school arise.

This is a 12-month position which is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The responsibilities of the IT Infrastructure Manager include:

  1. Architect and design network solutions.
  2. Oversee essential cloud-computing platforms, including:
  • Google Workspace management, including Gmail, Calendar, Group, Shared Mailboxes, Google Sites, and associated policy and account management.

  • Windows MDM
  • Continually develop improvements to existing infrastructure and workflows.
  • Perform hands-on tests to validate proof-of-concept setups, campus network designs, and network deployments using new products and features.
  • Install, maintain, and configure Endpoint Detection and Response and other IT security tools and platforms.
  • Plans and prepares technical reports and instructional manuals.
  • Maintain document design guidelines and workflow diagrams.
  • Confer with end-users to analyze routine workflows, such as forms of data input, how data is to be manipulated and summarized and how reports are to be formatted.
  • Manage and monitor sync tools and schedules to ensure proper logging, email alerts, and reports for all activities.
  • Liaise with vendors and third-party entities as directed by IT leadership.
  • Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems.
  • Lead IT automation workflows across the LEA.
  • Responsible for all system patching and scripting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Desired Qualifications:

    1. 4 years minimum of relevant experience required.
    2. At least 3 certifications relevant to IT Security Networking or Cloud Administration required. For example:
    • Security Plus
    • Network Plus / CCNA
    • JAMF 200 or above
    • Google Workspace Administrator
    • MS 900 Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
    • AWS or Azure Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • In addition to the above requirements, staff members must meet the requirements of all hires at Capital City including a criminal background check.
