The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Waterman - 1000 WATERMAN WAY, Tavares, FL 32778
The role you’ll contribute: Responsible for receiving, storage and inventory of all departmental supplies and food stuff. Also responsible for maintaining sanitation in storage areas.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
· Inventories and maintains necessary food and other supplies to ensure an efficient operation of Food & Nutrition Services.
· Stores food and supplies in correct containers and in proper storage areas according to department guidelines as indicated by non-spoilage of food.
· Maintains records and logs documenting storage temperatures of perishable food items on a daily basis.
· Dates, labels, and rotates stock according to procedures as indicated by oldest product being utilized first.
· Orders food and supplies based upon product specification as established by ordering protocols and procedures.
· Secures designated areas of potential theft, dangerous chemicals, supplies and equipment to safeguard employees.
· Transports food and supplies in appropriate containers or vehicles as indicated by food or supplies arriving safely and intact.
· Performs other tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
REQUIRED:
· High school education
· Up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, customers and other associates of the facility.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and interpret bar graphs.
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; The employ is occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
