Description
MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The staff of the Family Violence Prevention Project is charged with the responsibility of expanding the capacity of existing services to prevent future domestic violence by addressing in an appropriate manner, the needs of children 0 to 5 exposed to family violence. Children and youth exposed to domestic violence need culturally relevant, trauma-informed, evidence-informed, and developmentally appropriate services to address the trauma they have experienced and to break the cycle of violence. Through the use of the evidence based model Incredible Years we will support parents in recognizing and addressing their child's behavior that is an expression of trauma. Through the support of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in our Article 31 community mental health clinic, we will support children by addressing their trauma experience.

Position Requirements
- The Liaison will evaluate each family to determine needs.
- The Liaison will coordinate referrals to the Parenting Resource Center, where parents will receive case management and participate in Incredible Years, and the CGS Family Counseling and Wellness Center, where children and parents will participate in mental health treatment. These two CGS programs will utilize their existing intake process with each parent/child served.
- The Liaison will be the primary point of contact with other domestic violence providers.
- Creates linkages with other programs working with families involved in domestic violence to refer clients to our programs.
- Develops and conducts outreach by way of presentation to our community partners
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Executive Director
