Job Summary: The Program Director – Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a key staff position responsible for the supervision and coordination of all activities and initiatives related to graduate and undergraduate programs in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree; Five years experience in a related field of expertise; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Business Management, or a closely related field of study. Five years of managing experience in academic or professional settings. Proficiency in problem resolution, conflict management, and significant initiative in leading change and driving innovation, and project management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Program Director should be proficient in communications and be able to work effectively with faculty, administrators, students, and external constituencies. Additionally, the Program Director will:

  • Oversee student experience throughout their stay in the program, from admission to placement.
  • Monitor program quality and oversee the implementation of best practices to maintain compliance with internal academic policies.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and faculty, to create and oversee academic initiatives that support the school’s mission, vision, and priorities.
  • Develop campaigns to improve enrollment and rankings, and increase the effectiveness of student services and support.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with organizations, employers, and industries to improve student engagement and learning.
  • Create initiatives and programs to ensure robust enrollment in innovation and entrepreneurship classes with a particular emphasis on enrollment in startup launch classes.
  • Monitor, track, and develop long-term relationships with startup businesses founded by UTD alumni.

This position does not have or require any teaching responsibilities.

Remote Work Notice: A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly). Employees must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
