One of our large Consumer Manufacturing clients is seeking to bring on a Process Equipment Engineer to support with bringing in two new manufacturing lines to their site in Fort Washington, PA. This individual will be joining their 2nd shift time which is Monday-Friday, 4:30pm-12:30am and will be a key contributor of implementing manufacturing equipment capital projects, manufacturing processes, material interactions, and various equipment technologies at this site.

They will support plans that maintain high levels of Operational Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and low waste levels. This individual will also be responsible for equipment related investigations of high complexity while ensuring the use of applicable tools (ex: Kepner Tregoe, Process Excellence, etc.) and sophisticated data analysis techniques to facilitate root cause identification and resolution to present efficient processes. Other responsibilities include:

  • Plans and conducts activities related to development of new processes including researching current and emerging technologies, evaluating process cost, quality, and capability alternatives, and performing process characterization and optimization using designed experiments, problem solving, and decision- making tools
  • Designs comprehensive engineering activities to develop and implement effective, high quality, processes, and design guidelines for dissemination throughout the division
  • Provides complex design reviews and feedback for improvements in manufacturability
  • Will facilitate technology transfer from process development to commercial-sale processes for new product introductions, lead and coordinate all activities for modifications of existing processes, prepare process development protocols and coordinate all activities related to their execution
  • Lead cross functional teams to design and install multi-million-dollar capital projects primarily focused on new and upgraded projects throughout the facility, which may include packaging, manufacturing, and/or facilities equipment
  • Acts as a liaison with Engineering and Business Units on manufacturing capabilities of new products and/or new processes
  • This involves designing projects in conformance with governmental and regulatory agency requirements; administering all projects according to Capital Review Process; generating and implementing cost reduction ideas; and maintaining accurate accounting of purchasing and commitments and expenditures for each project
  • Prepares process validation protocols and coordinates all activities related to their execution, including the preparation and approval of all related completion reports, prepare detailed process specifications, work instructions, and support in equipment installation qualification activities for new equipment
  • Conceive, develop, and implement equipment, tooling, processes to improve efficiencies, increase productivity, and/or improve quality, follow, and observe all regulatory requirements applicable to the area of responsibility and comply with industry requirements, safe working conditions, and practices


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Process Engineer experience
  • Experience with the installation, commissioning, and validation of manufacturing equipment
  • Experience implementing manufacturing processes and equipment technologies


Pay: $65.00-$80.00/hr (flexible based on experience)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 4:30pm-12:30pm

Duration: 13 month contract with likelihood of extension and/or permanent hire

PTO: 10 PTO Days

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
